Your knowledge of online media combined with your communication skills and analytical abilities shapes how new and existing business grow. Using your influencing and relationship-building skills, you provide Google-caliber client service, research and market analysis. You anticipate how decisions are made, persistently explore and uncover the business needs of Google's key clients and understand how our range of product offerings can grow their business. Working with them, you set the vision and the strategy for how their advertising can reach thousands of users.

As Head of Industry, you will lead and strengthen a sales team focused on a small set of large advertisers. Leadership entails inspiring the team with a compelling vision for how we can identify client business challenges in order to deliver value to our customers. You’ll run the day-to-day operations for your team by setting clear goals, and helping the team to clear roadblocks. The Head of Industry collaborates effectively with fellow managers, partners with sales leadership to set vertical wide strategic objectives, and builds relationships across the Google network. Actively engaged with clients and agencies, you will build the business and develop a reputation for thought leadership and industry change while demonstrating how Google products can enhance and transform businesses.

Our Large Customer Sales teams partner closely with many of the world’s biggest advertisers and agencies to develop digital solutions that build businesses and brands. We enjoy a bird’s eye view on the massive transformation occurring as advertising shifts to mobile and online platforms. We're uniquely situated to help shape how companies grow their businesses in the digital age. We advise clients on Google's broad range of products across search, video and mobile to help them connect instantly and seamlessly with their audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the core sales team and engage with cross-functional talent to deliver insights, ideas and customer service that drives business growth for our clients and for Google.
  • Develop and foster C-Level relationships across the book.
  • Analyze data trends and client performance, develop solid strategic plans, and lead preparation and delivery of strategic presentations and narratives.
  • Partner with leaders of other teams to develop thought leadership that equips teams across Large Customer Sales (LCS) to deliver game-changing business growth.
  • Attract, develop, and retain talent in all roles across the team.

  • Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 11 years of experience in advertising sales, account management, and/or client services.
  • Brand, sales, and/or media partnership leadership experience.

  • Preferred qualifications:

  • Demonstrated people management experience with ability to drive customer growth and positively contribute to the team’s culture.
  • Ability to lead complex operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to understand the customer's key business and marketing challenges and organize clear, simple strategies to drive customer business outcomes.
  • Effective influencing and collaboration skills with internal and external cross-functional stakeholders, including C-level executives and clients.
